Information 4 schools & community workers
The WEEO WISER project equips young women with knowledge, skills and attitudes to reject violent, abusive relationships and to expect healthy, safe, equal relationships.
The main component of our project is our five session workshop program that takes place in schools, mainly with young women in year nine. The program uses a peer educator model meaning our workshops are conducted by trained peer educators working in pairs. The workshop program has been structured to complement the NSW PDH & PE syllabus for schools and other violence prevention initiatives.

Our peer educators are fifteen local young women from culturally diverse backgrounds who completed a nine day training course. They are supported by twelve experienced local workers who have worked in the field of domestic violence to deliver a high quality program with young women with whom they can relate.
The program is based on strong partnerships with young women, schools, Department of Education & Training and local services. This allows the WEEO WISER program to have a significant impact in the Liverpool area, with the potential for it to expand across NSW.
