Evaluation & research
The WEEO WISER project understands that evaluations are a key feature of any effective program. The WEEO WISER program is the only fully evaluated violence prevention program in NSW.
It is important to us that young women enjoy our project, but more importantly that the project impacts their lives. The project concentrates on an increased understanding of violence against women, including subtle forms of violence and also forming attitudes that show a non- acceptance of violence. Our program to date has been successful in achieving these two goals which can be seen in our program evaluations.
Our evaluations and research are published as evidence of the success of our program and to also offer information for those who were interested in running similar projects, particularly using peer education.
Below is listed our first evaluation report and two published journal articles. You can read our evaluation by clicking on the link. Our journal articles, however, can be accessed through the journals in which they are published.
In 2009 the program engaged in longitudinal evaluations to measure the long term effectiveness of the program. This report will most likely be published in 2010 and when completed will be accessible on this website.
Our briefing paper can also be accessed below and distributed to provide information on the project.
